Bradley Youth & Community Club – BYCC

Community Mentor Program

The BYCC has formed a community mentor program to provide one-on-one support for Bradley Beach Elementary middle school aged students. Students are paired one-on-one with mentors for support in the following areas:

  • Homework and classwork completion

  • Special Interests

  • Life and organizational skills

  • Perseverance and achievement

  • Social and Emotional Development

The Community Mentor program will begin in the fall and run through May. Mentor pairs will meet once weekly for no more than one hour at the Bradley Beach Library. The program will work in conjunction with guidance from the BBES administration and align with SEL (Social Emotional Learning) practices.

Mentors from the community will be screened through BYCC and undergo background checks and fingerprinting through the Bradley Beach Library and Borough. Mentors will participate in mentoring techniques and technological training as related to the program scope. The BYCC will oversee progress and activities, and facilitate coordination between the mentors, BBES administrators, families, and library as needed.
